Money Monster

Jodie Foster’s first directorial feature since 2011’s The Beaver is a taut thriller which nods to Network and Nightcrawler.

Lee Gates (George Clooney) “the Wizard of Wall Street” hosts a tabloid cable show which encourages financial speculation. One live episode of “Money Mon$ter” is infiltrated live on air by a desperate investor who has lost everything (Jack O’Connell). Gates and his producer Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts) are forced to negotiate live on air in a tense standoff broadcast to millions.
