The Travel Almanac, Issue 10 – Richard Prince

The Travel Almanac explores the topics of traveling and temporary habitation from the personal perspectives of innovative figures in the fashion, music, art, and film worlds. Addressing an increasingly mobilized creative community, it is the first publication of its kind to speak to this sophisticated generation of travelers. The plurality of this community inspires the magazine to focus on individual’s personal experiences, and the effects of travel on their lives and work.

In this issue:
Issue 10 is The Travel Almanac´s boldest vision of travel, culture, style and luxury yet. Two icons grace the two covers and set the tone: Richard Prince with a conversation about the concept of appropriation, and Jeremy Scott with an exploration of the transcendental nature of creativity, both shot by Juergen Teller. For this feature Mr. Teller also shot a selection of Prince´s work displayed in selected high-fashion stores in the city of Beirut.

Further, TTA10 includes a conversation with the charismatic Michael Shannon, shot in Comme des Garçons by David Schulze, thoughts on the decay of the music business with Alice Cohen, the lyricsm of touring with Kurt Vile, and the ethereal nature of the human being with Hayden Dunham.

The issue features essays on the identity-defying writer Fernando Pessoa and the condomininium dynamics of JG Ballard’s Highrise, photo editorials in rural Montana and in a futuristic Paris, where Staz Lindes is the last person on Earth, shot by Kira Bunse in Saint Laurent; plus literary reports of Turkish baths, luxurious objects, and international hotel stays.

Finally, issue 10 inaugurates the new Travel Diary series with Juergen Teller’s Last Chance to Try – a 66 page booklet of exclusive pictures that offer a peephole look into the curious traditions of Polish wedding ceremonies and birthday celebrations.
